10" Charlie Mingus-Spaulding Givens String and key Debut DG 1953 JazzSpaulding Givens and Charlie Mingus ' String and key ' 10" or cm. 25 - deep groove - flat edge rec. on 1951 and issued in 1953 - this is the first Mingus Lp on his own label
Spaulding Givens : piano - Charlie Mingus : bass Side A : What is this thing called love - Darn that dream - Yesterdays Side B : Body and soul - Blue moon - Blue tide
Visual grading : record is EX has full lustre with just a few light wispy lines and a few very tiny bubbles on first track of side A Labels are clean with just a few spindle marks on each side Playing grading : record is EX- plays well but has continuous light background noise surely due mostly to the low quality and to the nature of this early 50's vinyl. However the sound is loud and clear Cover grading : cover is VG- to VG has trace of sticker's removal on top edge front and partially on back. Also sticker's trace on bottom left corner (cm.5 or 2"). Starting seam split on both right corners. Light general rubbing
