Description
Prestige 136 is the George Wallington Trio w/ "baron" Fingus (Charles Mingus), Oscar Pettiford, and Max Roach. They are joined by Chuck Wayne (on Mandola!!) on one track. The tunes are; Love Beat, Summer Rain, Escalating, Laura, Tenderly, When Your Old Wedding Ring Was New, Red, White and Blue, and Arriverderci. The label and jacket read Released by Prestige Record Co. 446 West 50th STreet NYC. The jacket has some water damage that affects not quite a quarter of the liner notes, and is also lightly visible on the front (see photos). There is a 2 inch light seam split on the bottom edge. The deep groove vinyl is VG with some minor scuffs. All in all, a fine piece by a highly underrated pianist and a fantastic rhythm section. This is an original - not a copy!~
