PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. MEGA RARE, especially MINT, 1971 PROMOTIONAL-ONLY radio release containing an in-depth sit-down with Mick Jagger hosted by the famed San Francisco Sound underground radio personality, Mr Tom Donahue ... This item was counterfeited at least twice, though this copy, 100% guaranteed came from the vinyl archives of a collector who obtained the disc in 1971 and shelved it. It may not have been played. The cover is immaculate and even IF an original is located the cover usually suffers from dirt and soil; again this copy (see details below) is MINT all the way around, inside & outside, 46 years of age limited edition, NEVER available on the retail market! The rare original has sold for $200 in past sales history...
Mick Jagger speaks to Tom Donahue in April of 1971 with Marshall Chess and Charlie Watts present. It's fascinating to hear the disc and see how the author chopped it up for an essential released book on the Stones. Jagger is pretty insightful, discussing the creation of Sticky Fingers, the album which would debut the Rolling Stones' record label. At one point, Donahue asks him "Did you have a producer on this album?," and Jagger replies: "Well, some of the tracks were produced by Jimmy [Miller], and some of them we did ourselves...some of them Glyn Johns was engineering on them...Jimmy did a lot of work on it, but didn't do all the tracks." A strange revelation, as Jimmy Miller's name is prominently on the disc and his work seems so obvious all over Sticky Fingers -- just play it next to It's Only Rock & Roll to hear the difference between Miller and the Glimmer Twins. But the controversy is what makes vintage interviews like this so much fun. The late Gere Miller, wife of the producer, claimed the Stones attempted to erase her late husband's name from Rolling Stones history -- and it is enlightening to hear these remarks from the band's lead singer. This interview is different from the Buddah records-distributed Current Audio Magazine (August-September, 1972) -- an attempt to issue a magazine on vinyl. Elliot Mintz spoke with Jagger on that recording, and both projects prove that Mick is a compelling guest. Fun to listen to.
