12" HISTORIC MASTER HMB85 FRANCESCO TAMAGNO Samson & Delilah/MATTIA BATTISTINI Demon  Perfect copy E+. 10" master on a 12" plate.

  

The British Institute of Recorded Sound issued Historic Masters Discs circa 1972.  They were pressed on top quality vinyl from historic masters and it was suggested to play them with a lightweight 78rpm stylus (.0036" or about 90 microns).  The recommended speeds printed on the labels had been arrived at by an advisory panel.  At the time they were issued they were incredibly expensive. 

 

I am selling the 2nd and final batch of 78s for the family of a dear deceased friend Phil Bailey.  They comprise almost entirely opera/ classical vocal records.

I am extremely reluctant to post a single record overseas.  I am unable to send at postal costs quoted by e-bay as these would result in broken records.  See my feedback – I hate to receive broken 78s and pack in a manner I hope to be post-proof.
