JONI MITCHELL
 'CLOUDS'

The winner of the Grammy for 'Best Folk Performance' in 1970 Joni Mitchell's second album 'Clouds' consisted of wonderful, sparsely arranged songs with little more than Mitchell's voice and solo acoustic guitar for accompaniment. Particularly well known on this album are the songs "Both Sides, Now" and "Chelsea Morning"

The cover is a self-portrait, depicting Mitchell's home town of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I shows the South Saskatchewan River that flows through the city and the Bessborough Hotel, a historic railway hotel built in the days before asphalt-surface highways. Joni is holding a "Western Red Lily", the floral emblem of the Province of Saskatchewan.

This SUPERB UK 1st pressing dates from initial May 1969 release and was pressed in the UK by Pye Records on the original tri-colour 'steamboat' Reprise label: RSLP 6341

Matrix numbers: RSLP 6341 A-1 *T STEREO & RSLP 6341 B-1 *T STEREO

Stamper codes: AM/1 & AM/1

Disc weight: 153g

The cover:
Housed in a matt/unlaminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover. It has some rubbing to the top and bottom seams, as well as a small name to the top. Other than that, it still has all of it's bright colours and would frame incredibly well.

Complete with an original poly-lined inner-sleeve, which just has some edge discolouration.
No writing or splits.

The vinyl is EXCELLENT! I have just played her all the way through on my Focus One deck and found an incredibly rich and clear audio reproduction....MAGICAL.
EXACTLY AS JONI WOULD WANT YOU TO HEAR HER.

SO FOLKS, THIS IS REALLY ONE FOR THE AUDIOPHILE-IT HAS BEEN LOOKED AFTER BY A BASS PLAYER IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY FOR ALL THESE YEARS AND COMES ON THE 1ST PRESSING LABEL WITH QUALITY 153g VINYL.
