Description

Postage within the 48 contiguous States will be a flat $6 via Priority and will include insurance due to the rarity of this record and the extra packing materials needed. No return accepted for this record due to its condition.

Extremely rare 1897 George Graham recording of "Negro Funeral" on a 7-inch record #689 manufactured by E. Berliner, New York. I assumed this was recorded 78rpm but it sounds too fast when played at 78, as heard on the unedited audio file.

I used the only set-up I have that can play 78rpm, a 1970s era Panasonic system which does not allow any way to gradually increase, or decrease, playing speed. I also have not tried to clean this record.

CONDITION: Surface appearance as visible in the pictures, and sound as heard on the audio file. The tape seen on the back is applied along a crack. The crack causes the audible tics.
