Hoose, Ellison, van, Tenor, * 18.8.1868 Murfreesboro (Tennessee), † 24.3.1936 Houston (Texas); er studierte zuerst bei seiner Mutter, dann bei Perry Averill und Isadora Luckstone in New York, weiter bei Jean de Reszke in Paris, bei Fidèle König in London und bei Antonio Cotogni in Rom. Nachdem er zuerst als Solist in New Yorker Kirchen und 1897 bei der New York Oratorio Society als Solist im »Messias« von Händel aufgetreten war, debütierte er 1897 bei der Damrosch-Ellis Company in Philadelphia als Tannhäuser. Zwei Jahre lang blieb er bei dieser Operntruppe, mit der er auch im Haus der Metropolitan Oper gastierte. Dann kam er nach England, wo er bei Sir Henry Wood weiter studierte und sich als Konzert- und Oratorien-Tenor betätigte. 1903 kreierte er das Solo in Elgars »Dream of Gerontius« in New York für Amerika. 1903-05 begleitete er Nellie Melba, 1906-07 Marcella Sembrich als assistant Artist bei Nordamerika-Tourneen. 1908 kam er nach Deutschland, wo er als Konzertsänger auftrat, u.a. bei den Leipziger Gewandhauskonzerten unter Arthur Nikisch. 1909-10 war er am Stadttheater von Mainz engagiert, 1911-12 sang er an der Oper von Chicago (Debüt als Manrico im »Troubadour«), hatte aber seine wichtigsten Erfolge weiter im Konzertsaal. Später Pädagoge in New York.

Records will be packed safely between corrugated cardboard in a sturdy box with plenty of padding for safe shipment.

Shipment is usually Media Mail, unless another service is requested. Shipping is at your risk, I will be happy to insure items at your cost.

I charge actual postage plus a small fee for packing materials

Prices below are for regular 78 rpm records. Up to about 5 records, I will ship Edison Discs for the same rates. Above that and for international shipments, it will be actual weight plus a small packing charge (1-2$)

Prices below are for regular 78 rpm records. For Edison Discs in  international shipments, it will charge for the actual weight plus a small packing charge (1-2$) - for small quantities, it will not be much different from the charge for regular 78s.

Be aware that US Postal Rates can be high. Here are some examples.

Your best bet is the Large Priority box, everything that fits into a 12"x12"x5 1/2" box up to 20 pounds ships for 60$ (35$ Canada) worldwide.

However, I can get competitive rates from FedEx and the US Postal service for any kind of parcel weight
