Description
1920s US JAZZ 78 MEMPHIS FIVE "FOUR O'CLOCK JUMP/HAUNTING BLUES" PARAMOUNT 1266
This record has been test played on a 1930s HMV gramophone with lid closed, using an HMV No 5a soundbox fitted with new extra soft tone needle. The audio results are as follows. The overall sound is very clear with a small amount of the normal background noise associated with these early pressings. Visually the record shows signs of being played quite often with a some light scratches and surface marks. Supplied in plain card sleeve. Would make a fabulous addition to any jazz collectors inventory. This record has only recently been discovered having languished in a warehouse for many years along with some of the other 78s I am now posting. There are some nice US jazz/blues and rock n roll records amongst them. Check out my other listings.
TO ALL POTENTIAL BUYERS - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING
I am well versed in posting 78s, so any prospective buyer can be assured the best care will be taken when posting out this record. Although I make every effort to purchase the best quality 78s, any bidder should be aware that due to the very nature of the recordings back in the day and the age of the record, in some cases there may be some faint background noise and the odd pop or crackle. This may not be audible when played on a suitable period record player or gramophone equipped with the correct stylus/needle. However, I would not recommend playing any 78 on a "High End" stereo system which is likely to "amplify" (excuse the pun) any imperfections in the recording. If any buyer is not entirely satisfied with their purchase and if the record does not match my description, I always offer a no quibble money back guarantee.
