Description
From October 1924 here is the ONLY Edison recording by black jazz band WILBUR SWEATMAN'S BROWNIES on Edison Diamond Disc 51438. This is the fabulous "BATTLESHIP KATE" featuring vocals by Wilbur Sweatman himself.
This Edison Diamond Disc is very rare. It is the only copy I have found in 25 years.
This record is in SHINY EXCELLENT PLUS (E+) condition and plays LOUD and CLEAR with a nice quiet surface from start to finish!

The label on the Battleship Kate side looks like it may have been replaced but I don't know for certain. I do know that this is a beautiful looking and beautiful playing record!
The reverse side features "MY MAMMY'S BLUES" by Georgia Melodians! It is another wonderful jazzy side and this side is also in E+ condition!
