Description
This is the original 78 by Wade Ray. I think it was made in the late 1940's. Now, my pictures you see here are NOT photos. I laid it on my scanner and scanned the pics. It is worn but plays really good. Almost no "lowFi" hiss. No needle skipping when I played it. No chips. It's hard plastic, not clay or bakelite. When I ship it, it will be packed like I'm shipping Eggs. Oh, and I pay for the shipping. Now, wade spent a lot of time in St. Louis and on KMOX radio. Although a top-notch fiddler, Wade Ray just sings on this recording, backed by the "Ozark Champions," most likely musicians from Pappy Cheshire's National Champion Hillbillies who broadcast on radio station KMOX in St. Louis. Wade Ray played the Vaudeville circuit in his youth, then with Cheshire's group from 1934-1942 and for a short time after completing his military service in 1944. Town & Country Records was located somewhere in St. Louis County.
