Alexander Chevtschenko was the conductor, composer, arranger and production manager responsible for Russian, Ukrainian,
White Ruthenian and other recordings made during the Second World War on behalf of the Central Office for Germans
Cultural radio broadcasts were produced abroad. These records were probably made by Deutsche Grammophon-AG
pressed exclusively on the Polydor export label and are not included in the German catalogs. The majority of
recordings referred to below as unpublished (“KVN”) may therefore have been published.
The repertoire included not only titles with traditional music, but also dance, entertainment and classical music. Completeness
for the sake of this, these titles are also included in the following list. Many recordings of the Chevchenko Choir were made by
Boris Ledkowsky conducts, therefore the recordings of Ledkowsky are included in the list. Boris Ledkowsky
founded the Black Sea Cossack Choir in Germany in 1937. Sergei Horbenko takes over from Boris Ledkowsky in 1955
Germany artistic direction of the Black Sea Cossack Choir. The choir gives concerts under the patronage of the interior
Mission of the Evangelical Church.
The list also includes titles with identical or similar personnel under a different name in the recording books
appear. These include, in particular, the meetings that took place in occupied Prague from 1944 under Czech conductors:
The F.O.K. (= Film, opera, concert) was founded by Rudolf Pekárek in 1934 and still exists today; Dr V. Smetácek (1906-1986)
was a hoboist and conductor; Rene Kubínsky - actually Josef Patejdl - (1908-1973) was a conductor; Jaroslav Malina (1912-1988)
became known as a composer and jazz band leader; Karel Boleslav Jirák (1891-1972) was a composer, conductor,
Music teacher and critic; Alois Klima (1905-1980) was a conductor and music teacher; Sláva Eman Novácek - actually Blahoslav
Emanuel Novácek - (1911-1979) was a composer, jazz and dance music

Quick note on grading:

The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately

When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise.
"SUPERQUIET" is basically noiseless, like a vinyl pressing.
"VERY QUIET" is an exceptionally quiet record for a given pressing.
"Quiet" is a record that is a great example without undue noise for a give pressing.

These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment.

Records will be packed safely between corrugated cardboard in a sturdy box with plenty of padding for safe shipment.

Shipment is usually Media Mail, unless you request another service. Shipping is at your risk, I will be happy to insure items at your cost.

I charge actual postage plus a small fee for packing materials

Prices below are for regular 78 rpm records. Up to about 5 records, I will ship Edison Discs for the same rates. Albums from Album Sets count as 1 record. Above that and for international shipments, it will be actual weight plus a small packing charge (1-3$ depending on size of shipment)

MANY MORE RECORDS: Don't worry. I safely ship 40 - 50 pounds of records double boxed in moving boxes, and even then Media Mail will probably not exceed 35$.
