"Command Performance" 1943 Christmas Show 16" Radio Show Transcription Discs produced by The United States War Department. Approximately 60 minutes on these Two(2) 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs. These discs were issued to radio stations for broadcast to U. S. Troops only and not available to the general public, very rare!
These discs contain approximately 60 minutes of a 90 minute broadcast. Discs contain parts 1, 3, 5, 6 - missing parts 2 and 4
"Command Performance" Christmas Show from December 25, 1943 starring Bob Hope, Spike Jones & The City Slickers, Kay Kyser & His Orchestra, Jimmy Durante, Nelson Eddy, Ginny Simms, Dinah Shore, Fred Allen, The Ken Darby Chorus, Henry Stimson (U. S. Secretary of War)
Songs include "St. James Infirmary Blues" Kay Kyser & His Orchestra, "Great Day" Nelson Eddy, "Chloe" Spike Jones & The City Slickers, "You'll Never Know" Ginny Simms, "Summertime" Dinah Shore & The Ken Darby Chorus. Program includes a Christmas Medley by Dinah Shore, Ginny Simms, Frances Langford & The Ken Darby Chorus including "Joy To The World / O Come All Ye Faithful / Hark! The Herald Angels Sing / Silent Night".
Program comedy interludes including a Bob Hope comedy monologue, a Bob Hope & Jimmy Durante comedy spot, a Fred Allen & Jack Benny Comedy spot where they sing "People Will Say We're In Love", etc.
Discs are in Excellent- condition with Excellent- sound
