Description
"We take you now to DUFFY'S TAVERN!
Hello, DUFFY'S TAVERN, where the elite meet to eat - Archie the Manager speakin', Duffy ain't here...Oh, hello Duffy..."
And here's a very enjoyable original WAR AND NAVY DEPARTMENT RADIO PROGRAM TRANSCRIPTION DISC containing a complete 30-minute episode of the famous radio situation comedy series: "DUFFY'S TAVERN" starring ED GARDNER, EDDIE GREEN, SANDRA GOULD and CHARLIE CANTOR.
This disc is labeled Program #96, and was broadcast in the states on June 1, 1945. The guest star is Metropolitan Opera singer MAREK WINDHEIM. The plot involves Archie's efforts to spur business for the Tavern by hiring a press agent. When that turns out to be the local con artist...well, the usual silliness follows. Windheim sings "Song of the Vagabonds". Funny show!
I don't believe this particular episode is in circulation among collectors. As such, it is sold as is with no right of return.
The program features series regulars Eddie the Waiter and Clifton Finnegan, Miss Duffy and a recurring con man named Dave Hossinger.
This is an original 16" WAR AND NAVY DEPARTMENT disc, issued by the AFRS to be heard by servicemen throughout the world. It is in a protective sleeve. The disc is clean and uncracked; the recordings are in great condition with no skips.
See scans of the labels for both sides of the disc. Will ship in sturdy packing.
SHIPPING COSTS REDUCED FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES - PLEASE WAIT FOR A COMBINED INVOICE BEFORE PAYING.
