Description

I will be listing more scarce records relating to the Space Race, Atomic Age, Rockets & Robots, and other sci-fi and sci-fact genre.  This is a largely musical tribute to the Continental Air Command on their 10th anniversary; HOWEVER, there are some cool items for the Space-Age maven.  The radio station cue sheet is still inside this gatefold; Jimmy Steward (Genl. Jimmy Stewart, USAF) is a presenter.  The first tune is a for-this-album composition by "Lawrence", who is probably Jack Lawrence.  The final piece "Space Ride" is by Michael Brown with permission granted for a single use on this album!!!  He had been a cryptographer for the Air Corps in WWII, so of course he agreed to compose something for this anniversary.  Michael Brown is an amazing person; Google him and be impressed. He wrote "Lizzie Borden" and "The John Birch Society"; wrote the book "Santa Mouse", and it was revealed in 1961 that he paid Harper Lee a full year's "salary" so she could concentrate on writing her book!!!!  Interesting also is that fact that this 2-disc set is recorded on only three sides...I'd never seen this before!   Winner pays $4 media mail postage in the USA.
