If you cannot see the many pictures Please use all scroll bars to see them.Up for auction is a very hard to find original 1955 first pressing Jazz lp titled The President Plays With The Oscar Peterson Trio.Very sought after Jazz lp with front cover artwork by David Stone Martin.This is on Norgran label # MG N-1054 and is an original mid 1950s pressing.Very sought after Lp most likely because of the Outstanding recording session.Lester Young was really on and hot this day and also the Outstanding front cover artwork.Lester Young is accompanied by Oscar Peterson,Barney Kessel,Ray Brown and J.C. Hear on drums.Cover has an 8 1/2 inch top seam split.The bottom seam and the spine are not split at all.Also spine and bottom seam have NO shelf rub wear.Corners all pretty nice with very light to light wear Please see picture.Beautiful dark red color with sharp black and white on front cover.Very sharp looking cover as you can see.Very nice back cover with only a very small light brown stain near lower right corner on back cover only Please see picture.Has 4.98 written light on back cover near upper left corner also see picture.Side 1 of record does have several scratches most of the light variety but about 18 to 20 scratches I can feel with back of fingernail.Has multiple scuff marks also.Side 2 has several light scratches with 12 scratches I can feel with fingernail.Has multiple scuff marks also.When record is held in a certain angle of light I can see some groove discoloration on some songs.Most likely just some groove wear spots.The record does have some groove wear on both sides but still has good and decent shine Please see pictures.One other thing is this side has a record pressing flaw only on very beginning of record near edge Please see picture.The bumpy line does not touch grooves and the small dot stops at the very first groove.This is only on one spot although I have taken 2 pictures of the same spot.When needle comes down to record before play it makes 4 loud pops because of the flaw.Then music starts after that.The pops are not on the music at all as they are just right before song begins.I played bot sides and here is how the record played.Side 1 is the faster upbeat side which will play a bot better than side 2 because side 2 is mellower with more quiet passages.Side 1 song 1 has 2 pops near beginning of song and then plays with very light and light ticks during song.Song 2 plays with ticks at times with 1 light pop.Outstanding guitar by Barney Kessel.Song 3 on side 1 plays with 5 pops and light ticks.Side 2 song 1 plays with 2 light pops with ticks in the background.Song 2 side 2 plays with background ticks with 4 ticks near end of song.Song 3 plays with some background ticks with 1 pop.Ticks mostly near end of song.Song 4 plays with ticks about 3/4th of the way through song.Song 5 plays nicely with some very light and light ticks.Both sides really contain some Outstanding Jazz.This session was pretty historic if you want to look it up.I have tried to describe the sound as well as possible.If the buyer is not 100% satisfied I have a return for refund on all records I sell.I,ll be listing some other Great Jazz Lps.I also combine multiple Lp auctions to save on shipping.Please E Mail if you have any questions.
