Description
This is from a top of the market collection, comprising of just early stereo rarities on Decca HMV, UK Columbia & RCA. First labels issues in Near Mint condition to 99% of them, all described in detail with plenty of pictures. Includes many items rarely seen on ebay.
Japan DG LG 1048 of Mravinsky & the Leningrad PO in the mono era issue Tchaikovsky 6th 10 inch from 1960, this is the highly regarded, preferred by some earlier account of the 6th. The later stereo recording was an attempt to recapture the magic and intensity of this session. Curved cut fully laminated flip back Near Mint (played once by me to check and hear) with no marks to the playing surfaces, 2 words to one label and the sleeve is Near Mint. Stands a good chance of being th ebest sounding pressing of this, given the high standard of Japanese pressings.
