Description
Historic documentary recording:
Isle of Man T.T. 1959 Motorcycle Racing
Sound Stories LP record
The ‘59 Sr Tourist Trophy races are considered one of the toughest on record with only 22 of 58 competitors finishing the course through wind and driving rains. JOHN SURTEES was the eventual winner on a 4 cylinder MV Agusta and helped cement some character in his storied racing career. His fastest lap at 101 mph came before the terrible rains. Surtees also won the Jr T.T. race that year. Other riders profiled that year included Alistair King, Robert McIntyre, Walter Schneider, and Tarquinio Provini.
Narrated by Graham Walker, this recording covers commentary and sounds from the races, as well as rider interviews.
Record plays excellent, probably only played a few times. There is some slight warpage that does not affect play. The paper album cover has suffered a good amount of wear but is complete and readable. 33 1/3 rpm. Play time on each record side is about 18-20 minutes.
RARE historical documentary of moto racing history with a famous rider and tough conditions.
Shipped with plastic cover and well protected in record box.
