The album *Ritmo en Sepia* by **Chappottín y Sus Estrellas** was originally released in **1957** on the **Kubaney** label, under the catalog number **MT-220**. It is a notable example of Cuban **Son Montuno** music, with influences of **Bolero** and **Guajira**, blending traditional Cuban rhythms with the unique trumpet-led sound of **Félix Chappottín**, who took over the band after Arsenio Rodríguez left for New York in 1950. Chappottín's influence on Latin jazz and salsa was profound, often drawing comparisons to Louis Armstrong due to his brilliant trumpet playing.
This release has tracks such as *Perejil Pa' La Cotorra*, *Vendaval Sin Rumbo*, *Mariquitas y Chicharrones*, and *Cuento Na' Ma*, along with others that highlight the group's masterful blending of Afro-Cuban rhythms.
