Art Blakey & New Jazz Messengers – “Buttercorn Lady” (Limelight LS 86034). Buttercorn Lady is a live album by drummer Art Blakey's New Jazz Messengers recorded at The Lighthouse jazz club in 1966. The album is notable for being the first commercial recording featuring pianist Keith Jarrett, who had joined Blakey's band a few months earlier. Backing Blakey are Chuck Mangione (trumpet), Frank Mitchell (tenor saxophone), Keith Jarrett (piano), and Reggie Johnson (bass.) Cuts include: “Buttercorn Lady”; "Recuerdo"; "The Theme"; "Between Races"; “My Romance"; and "Secret Love." Gatefold cover. Record and cover are in strong VG+ condition.
