Chessmen--You Can't Catch Me / Mr. X--Phalanx 1018.  Great garage out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, summer of 1966.  A-side is an uptempo original, not a cover of the Chuck Berry tune.  Super vocals, keyboards,great guitar with a killer break.  This cut was comped on Highs In The Mid Sixties # 19 and Teenage Shutdown # 7.  The flip is a slow-dance tune.  Vinyl and labels are like new store stock--a solid Mint -.  Nice garage piece on collectible Michigan label ! ! !
