Record made in Hong Kong, about 1968.
From the sleeve notes :
' Ian Stewart, who hails from New Zealand, has been a foreign correspondent in the
Far East for more than 15 years. He began composing satirical songs about people
and places in Asia as a change of pace from his assigned task of producing political
analyses for his paper, The New York Times . . .
"Come To Hong Kong" undertakes a tongue-in-cheek examination of the British
Crown Colony's past, present and future and pokes a little gentle fun at "The
Establishment". It also has something to say about the "Cultural Revolution" in
China and its effect on Hong Kong. '
Condition : Excellent / Very Good. The disc is in outstanding
condition, it may have a couple of inaudible surface marks, at worst.
The fully laminated sleeve has two battered edges (at the top and at
the opening, as shown) but is otherwise very good. The penned
autographed dedication to Sir David Trench is very faded but still
readable.
So rare you will never find another! A unique collectors' item
and a rare insight into the politics of the day. Happy bidding!
