James Brown and the Famous Flames - Live at the Apollo Vol 2 (King 12-1022). Great double LP recorded live at the Apollo Theater in Harlem in 1967 and released in the summer of 1968. It is best known for the long medley of "Let Yourself Go", "There Was a Time", and "I Feel All Right", followed by "Cold Sweat", which document the emergence of Brown's funk style. It peaked at #32 on the Billboard albums chart and was the last album recorded by James Brown & The Famous Flames as a group, Robert Christgau included the album in his "basic record library" for the 1950s and 1960s. Contents include: Think (Duet); I Want To Be Around; That's Life; Kansas City; Let Yourself Go; There Was A Time; I Feel All Right; Cold Sweat; It May Be The Last Time; I Got You (I Feel Good); Prisoner Of Love; Try Me; Bring It Up; It's A Man's, Man's, Man's World; Medley; and, Please, Please, Please. Original. Gatefold cover. Records are in M- condition. Cover (Shrink-wrap) is VG condition (has a 1-inch split at top right of back cover, a 1-1/2-in center bottom seam slit on back cover, and a small scuff at right center edge of front cover.)
