Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. CLEAN 1968 FIRST PRINTING ... a 44 year old issue in GREAT shape, really hard to find this dark cover - this clean....
The roots of the group's revolutionary mix of classic R&B with San Francisco's burgeoning acid-rock sound can be heard loud and clear on their second album, 1968's Life. The elements are all there--the dynamic ensemble singing, the adventurous arrangements, the hard funk beats, the screaming guitars.
By late 1968, the third album by Sly & the Family Stone absolutely blew the roof off the building. Life sounded so tangibly real it almost seemed like it was cut live. The title track, along with "Love City," "Plastic Jim," "Into My Own Thing" and especially "Dynamite!" signaled a perfect alliance between Sly's multi-influence, far-reaching musical vision and the burgeoning hippie ballroom community, already spreading like lawn daisies throughout the land. Never before had juicily syncopated beats dovetailed so perfectly with distortion-laced rock guitar. "You don't have to die before you live," sings Sly on "Life" and he's not kidding! The lyrical content of Sly's music becomes even more graphic with detailed workouts like "Jane Is A Groupee," a riveting description of this fascinating rock 'n' roll sub-culture. Then, on the other hand, you have the full-bore party numbers like "M'Lady" and "Fun," songs fully capable of launching anybody's weekend with reckless abandon!

CONDITION: The Cover: The dark cover is usually found with shelf wear, here a well handled 44 year old first press in near "EX" (excellent) with very little visual wear, back cover has some spotting along pocket opening (minor) ... a solid collection keeper with no split seams, no bends, no writing
The Vinyl: VERY clean all over, brightly shiny M- and plays fantastic ... no audio problems and has clean Epic labels...
