1969 Fleetwood Mac Then Play On, their Blues Rock stomper of a classic album in a super rare proper 1960s pressing from the Lebanon SLD plant (Societe du Libanais du Disque), as attested by the two tone orange labels shown clearly in hi res pics. The Republic of Lebanon is one of the smallest countries in the world, and the very existence of this talks of a time way back when a cultured Lebanese middle class would enjoy all of life's pleasures in the various forms they took, Music, art, and their own great wines. The Beirut Groove Collective (DJ's of broad tastes playing vinyl only shows) was still around when there was an article in a 2014 vice magazine where they describe local vinyl as rare and precious, with the Civil war almost killing out the vinyl culture. At time of listing there were only 4 SLD lps on offer on discogs, none of them this one. So here we can reach back in time, with this issue that has only once appeared on ebay before, without a proper description of its condition (used was all it said). This one is excellent, and given the scarcity, I am going to put it in at close to but still a fifth less than that only one other that has been offered in decades which was £75. I have heard this throughout and it plays excellent, and was very enjoyable. The standard way of these being offered back in the 60s was that UK Reprise provided the sleeves, and the SLD pressing plant pressed from the Metal masters. That is the case here, it is in a Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold sleeve, shown to all sides in the pics and with an extra closeup of the engineering details. We offer massive postage subsidies to overseas buyers on multiple purchases. i.e £1 extra per lp to a maximum of £15, then no extra charge. We pack carefully in custom made hard card boxes. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water. This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
