Description
The Milliyet 60s Turkish battle of the bands contest consisted of only school teenbands. The 45's released by the winners were only pressed in tiny 200 to 300 copies quantities and are megarare. Music ranges from garage psych to Turkish garage to mod, baroque psych but also really odd tunes. Check 'm out. A large list like the 45's here is unique.
This 45 is as close as Turkey's 60s scene came to the Left Banke sound ever. Both tunes on this 1969 Milliyet contest 45 have this magical baroque psych sound. All done by the Alman Lisesi! 'The story about the girl counting stars' is of breathtaking beauty and the other tune is a good Les Irresistibiles cover of 'My year is a day'. Disc VG++ and sleeve EX-. LISTEN!!!
