We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

A Gathering of Promises is a 1969 lost gem of the psychedelic era. The band had two very strong songwriters in guitarist Rod Prince and bassist Roy Cox, and its use of the twin lead guitars of Prince and Todd Potter matched the skill and innovation of the Allman Brothers, who were using some of the same ideas just a few states away from this Austin-based band. The band’s songcraft and tight harmonies should have put them on the map, but neither "Hot Smoke and Sassafras" nor the LP ever got the exposure they deserved, perhaps because they were on International Records, the regional label that also gave us the Thirteenth Floor Elevators.
So this lone album from the Bubble Puppy is a monumental effort of late 60s hard grooving psychedelia -- and one of very best albums to come out of the original Texas psych scene! Bubbly Puppy deserve to be on the top shelf, too, along side the 13th Floor Elevators, Golden Dawn and Red Krayola. The sound is tight and hard hitting, with trippy lyricism and groovy group harmonies, while the guitars range from cathartic fuzz to some surprisingly pretty melodicism. Not as far out as some of their peers, but the groove is absolutely killer.

CONDITION: The cover is collectible VG++, still strong, has a partially loose radio station sticker at top center stating "refer to label" (see below) otherwise a little shelf wear was starting, back cover is clean, altogether nothing much ... no bends, no split seams, no writing anywhere else, a flat & square really rare collectible
The vinyl is nice -- the label the cover note is referring to has a small sticker stating to play (on the air) only the hit sing track "Hot Smoke and Sasafrass" ...the grooves are clean and glossy "VG++" ...a few little stray suprerficial scuff lines, that is all ...plays excellent from start to finish ...
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
