Description
Up for auction is a Reel-to-Reel Tape entitled Songs of the GE Strike Sung by The Ring Shouters – Jonathan Eberhart – Mike Rivers – Andy Wallace. Produced on behalf of the GE Strikers by The AFL-CIO and The International Labor Press Association. Running time: 15 ½ minutes. 7 ½ i.p.s. In October of 1969, workers at GE walked out in the first national strike against the company in 23 years; the strike would last 102 days. This tape includes songs performed Jonathan Eberhart (1943-2003), co-founder of the Folklore Society of Greater Washington; Andy Wallace and Mike Rivers. Typed label affixed to front of white box with single reel-to-reel tape enclosed. Very good condition with pen notations on two sides of the box.
