PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Born from the chemical cauldron of ’60s Texas garage mischief—courtesy of The Outcasts and The Stoics— Homer emerged as a psychedelic soaring rock kaleidoscopic renaissance.
With their roots traced in two legendary 60s fuzz-rock garage bands, "The Outcasts" and "The Stoics", Homer were without doubt one the best psychedelic / hard-rock outfits to be found in Texas.
“Grown in U.S.A” was their only album, released as a private pressing in 1970. Rural psychedelic rock with early prog hints fueled by stunning lead / dual guitars, melodic vocals and occasional Mellotron, little was it known, 50+ years later would it become a highly sought after Texas psych album exchanging hands for up to $1000 - $1500 and more. Rarity given, a solid album and real "grower" with repeat plays being a 'go to' album listen. Only 1,000 LPs were pressed, and those were distributed locally in Texas by a Houston company, Budget Tapes and Records record stores. The cover artwork was from the side of an old orange crate with permission to use from a national fruit distribution company.

- CONDITION:
- The cover: rated: VG++ not many clean original copies remain being mostly black color at 55 years going. Still very presentable thick 1970 cover. Only issues are faint, light wear started but contained on front cover light creasing at bottom, while the back cover is not creased.
- The cover appears upper-clean especially in outer plastic as a collection-worthy keeper. There are no delete marks, no split seams, ...and no writing ...
- The vinyl: Rated: M- totally clean playing and visual thick 1970 patter, TOP COPY and both private Texas HOMER (Universal Recording) black & silver labels are clean
