We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SCARCE sought after CLEAN VINYL 1970 first pressing vinyl -- the second CARAVAN album...those early progressive virtuoso's who delivered the famous 'Canterbury' sound almost single handedly...

Considering this album was originally released in 1970, it still sounds astonishingly "fresh".

The title track was a surprise hit single at the time, but it is not really representative of the band, or indeed the album. The distinctive vocals and Canterbury keyboards are already present, especially on tracks like "And I wish I were stoned/Don't worry". Caravan found their direction on this album, and subsequent releases explored a similar vein.

This album contains three out-and-out classics, "As I Feel I Die" with Pye Hasting's delicate vocals, Richard Sinclair's subtle bass line just under the surface that comes out three minutes in and just WOWS the listener when that keyboard comes fuzzing out over the bass jamming - fantastic ! "With An Ear To The Ground You Can Make It" starts out with a catchy refrain, but then gallops into a perfect little ditty with neat keyboards, tempo changes then segways into a cool fuzzed out Sinclair keyboard solo, it is just perfect -- then to make things even more incredible a beautiful flute playing just over Pye's precious singing, one of the greatest unsung songs ever! The classic "For Richard", which is probably the most known song by the band, 14 minutes of jamming Jazz/Canterbury that has to be heard. It has of course gone on to become arguably the band's best known and most popular song, appearing on a plethora of live albums, and being performed probably at every gig they have done since. There is a strong complex rhythms structure and jazz influence on parts of the track, but that never overpowers the prevailing prog structure.

It was only because there were so many other innovative and exciting bands around at the same time, that Caravan never went on to achieve the success they deserved, and that this album undoubtedly warranted. They did enjoy a level of success with subsequent albums such as "In the Land of Grey and Pink", but this album remains something of a hidden diamond.

CONDITION: The cover: is solid all over VG++ having a bit of light shef wear, nothing bad at all, very little, still with bright original colors and looks strong as a collection keeper ...Having No seam splits, no bends, no writing...

The vinyl: is all glossy clean over both sides... near M-  handled carefully over the many years and play graded clean/ enjoyable with no audio distractions ! The London labels are clean 

keeper!
