RARE 1971 ORIGINAL PROMOTIONAL ....sought after for a good reason:
An outstandingly unpolished Velvet Underground-influenced 70's Psychedelic Pop-Rock record.
With the conclusion of the first track, a listener gets the idea that this is a great album and as it seems, underrated. The opening track "Reachin" is great, with a few seering guitar breaks. This song, like most others though, have a sort of folk feel with the possible exception of "And I Wonder" which has some of the most haunting and psychedelic keyboard soloing ala The DOORS. "Peace Has Come" and "Radio" are more introspective with some almost acoustic sounding guitar work. The bass and rhythm guitar interaction on "Someone You Know" is very well done also.
Hackamore Brick are one of the great missing links in the late-'60s New York music scene. In some circles, the Brooklyn-spawned quartet is considered notable as the first band known to cite the Velvet Underground as a source of inspiration; all four members were part of the Velvet Underground Appreciation Society and one can, indeed, hear their influence throughout the music on Hackamore Brick's album, One Kiss Leads to Another, cut for Buddah Records' Kama Sutra imprint, no less. Lou Reed's singing style is in evidence throughout Chick Newman's flat intonation, while some of the material, such as the Bob Roman/Tommy Moonlight-authored "Peace Has Come," makes one think of an embryonic Television. There was a lot of talent there and some good instincts about what to do with it, at least as a starting point. Not even the revived Buddha imprint had the courage or enough interest to reissue the album.

CONDITION: The cover has a promotional timing strip across the bottom front cover which only enhances the value ...radio station call letters in ink on the timing strip. "EX" (excellent) with no seam splits, no bends overall solid ...
The vinyl is all glossy, VG++ to "EX" (excellent) plays nicely and enjoyable (play graded. interesting album, much better than expected)
