PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. 1971 ACID DRENCHED PSYCHEDELIC-UNDERGROUND PROGRESSIVE
Daevid Allen & GonG
The Continental Circus
\ FRANCE - PHILIPS - 6332 033
TOP COPY
SCARCE Original 1971 first pressing that is arguably the most psychedelic works of Devid Allen & Gong ... always one of the hardest to find of the early GonG albums, due to the fact it was only released in France where the band lived ...released as a film soundtrack, both sides explode in aural delight ... swirling and phased long trips with acid laced jams and effects that should readily impress ... recommended to fans of early Hawkwind, and all the underground psych/prog gems of the early 70's - Krautrock & other-worldly scenes ...
1. Blues for Findlay (11.18) where Daevid Allen sings " And you don't have to give up dope, and you don't have to give up hope, and you don't have to change your ways", this is the Camembert Electrique line up, so the sound is a bit more amphetamine paced harder rock, like Camembert is more than the Pot Head Pixies trilogy. Its a bluesy based space rock number with Daevid Allen's characteristic drugged-out wordplay, spacing-out and along quite nicely for over eleven minutes.
2. Continental Circus World (4.13) - This is probably one of the strangest Gong tracks, a sound collage of French voices and motorbikes, after about a minute and a half, music is looped into the mix, sounding like an outtake of the glissando section in Fohat Digs Holes in Space, but with a different drum pattern, you can also hear Allen speaking over the mix, making it sound like a segment in Adventures In the Land of Flip from 1969's Bananna Moon.
3. What Do You Want (9.05) sounds like the live version from great performance on the 1971 Glastonbury Fayre album, but a lot clearer, lots of cool glissando guitar and space whispering and complex drumming so beloved of Gong. This version has different lyrics, and greatly tripped out stuff...wonderful freaky 'head' jams.
4. Blues For Findlay (9.39) - a grooving space-rock number, even more like the build up from "You'll Never Blow Your Trip Forever" from the "You" Lp, classic Gong. A family companion to Daevid Allen's Bananna Moon and Gong's Camembert Electrique
