Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. - Strong enough, it made the grade as a collection keeper for a longtime "psych" fan, the one at your service ... the Tropicálian Brazilian thing can be intoxicating when selecting the right platter from the too short lived scene... this one an original pressing, and playing very great throughout...
Gal Costa preferred not to cover up publicly regarding her sexuality, and she is known to have dated women throughout her life, making no secrets of her feelings here, as on the second track, "Milho Verde", as she flows on to a Portuguese melody about a secret rendezvous in a corn field, first with a young man, and then with a married woman. And on the gorgeous, sultry 'Passarinho', Costa imagines herself as a songbird, peeping into a girl’s window from a branch.
This album is not the Tropicália psychedelic freak-out like her first two albums. Instead Gal sticks to a much gentler approach this time closer to the classic Brazilian Bossa Nova sound. However, this album is not in any way limited to Bossa Nova but gliding all-over thru multiple influences.
"India" is a wonderful song in which Gal is singing her way in sound waves of a full fledged arrangements. "Da Maior Importância" has a wonderful reduced feeling, while "Milho Verde" is sounding like a gratifying popified folk song (and maybe it is). All these different songs fit together very nicely and make a lively album sparkling with brilliance.
Much more flowing (and better) work than from her earlier wild Janis Joplin jungle woman screams by swinging from tree to tree in psychedelic theatrics ....and despite the smoothing down of some of her rough edges, the album never fades into refined background music. Each of the nine tracks moves, and they pay off with close attention to a cornucopia of clever little Bossa Nova touches that augment the star’s usual thrilling array of vocalisms. The total effect is relaxed, still boundary-pushing, yet joyous and endlessly listenable A Índia 6:51

- The vinyl: Rated: near "EX" (excellent) playing minty enjoyable clean, no crackle, ticks or clicks...looks very clean ... both Philips labels are solid despite having difficult to see signature (thin/lite) on labels
