Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. LIMITED UK 1975 VIRGIN RECORDS PROGRESSIVE ROCK COLLECTIBLE
V V
VIRGIN "V" SAMPLER
...UK -(color) twin-girls VIRGIN Records
TOP CLEAN...Original 1975 first pressing two-LP set in highly laminated gatefold sleeve on the legendary UK Virgin Records label and includes both red plastic lined Virgin inner sleeves ...
This sprawling set contains a lengthy array of RARE early 70's, mostly U.K. progressive rock tracks that did not make it onto vinyl and are considered highly worthy to progressive collectors...
Just look at all the stuff that's included here: Henry Cow, Slapp Happy, Hatfield and the North, Jabula, Clearlight Symphony and Tangerine Dream are all represented. The late great Kevin Coyne is awarded two songs, just like Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band. Steve Hillage provides the exhilerating "Pentagramaspinn", which, from the early 70's, was totally unavailable to collectors.
Most glorious of all are the album's first three tracks. Robert Wyatt, who is awarded the honour of opening the party with a cover version of "Yesterday Man", one of his most delightful performances; Kevin Ayers accompanies him on spoons. David Bedford (on vocals) and Mike Oldfield (guitar) then follow, with an unforgettable performance of the nursery rhyme-like "Don Alfonso", featuring the immortal verse: 'She told me she was single / it made me tingle / my heart went jingle-jingle / I said: let's mingle!' To top it all, Ivor Cutler sings his magisterial "Go and sit upon the grass", which is almost as good as his contribution to Wyatt's ROCK BOTTOM. (Apparently, Robert Wyatt himself later covered Cutler's song under the title "Grass".) and that's only side one, with three sides loaded, more rarities alike, Including:
CAPTAIN BEEFHEART & The Magic Band:
Mirror Man and Upon the My -O-My (LIVE June '74 Theatre Royal London),
