Description
FOR PERSONAL REASONS, I AM LOWERING THE PRICES ON ALL MY VINYL AND AUCTIONS - MANY FAR BELOW COMPETITIVE. MAKES FOR SOME RARE ITEMS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AT LOW PRICES - THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS FOR COLLECTORS.
THIS IS A 1978 SOLO PICTURE DISC OF THE "KISS" BAND MEMBER, PETER CRISS. COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL RECORD COVER WITH THE PHOTOS OF THE 4 SEPARATE PICTURE DISCS AVAILABLE OF EACH BAND MEMBER (SEE PHOTOS).
THE RECORD COVER HAS SIGNS OF WEAR (WRINKLES SOME EDGE WEAR), BUT STILL IN TACT WITH NO ACTUAL SEAM RIPS. THE PART OF THE COVER SHOWING PHOTOS OF THE 4 PICTURE DISCS IS FINE. SO, CERTAINLY NOT CLOSE TO MINT, IT IS STILL THE ORIGINAL COLLECTIBLE COVER THAT HOUSES THE PHOTO DISC.
NOW THE VINYL. FIRST, THE VINYL MAKES A NICE PICTURE DISC AND PLAYS GREAT ON SIDE 1 WITH NO ISSUES. SIDE 2 EVIDENTLY HAS EXPERIENCED SOME SORT OF ISSUE OVER THE YEARS THAT CAUSED THAT SIDE (AND THAT SIDE ONLY), TO BECOME "WAVY" IN PLACES AND ACTUALLY SLIGHTLY"BUBBLED UP." I HAVE INCLUDED 2 PHOTOS TRYING TO SHOW THE BUBBLE EFFECT. THEY ARE HARD TO SEE, BUT USE THE MAGNIFIER. THEY ARE NOT SMALL BUBBLES, JUST A WAVY FORM OF SWELLS THAT CAN BE NOTICED IF YOU TURN THE VINYL AT THE RIGHT ANGLE.
FOR WHATEVER REASON, SIDE 2 IS STILL A NICE PICTURE DISC, BUT HAS THOSE MYSTERIOUS "SWELLS" IN THE VINYL.
AFTER TEST-PLAYING SIDE 1 WITH NO ISSUES, I STARTED TO PLAY SIDE 2 WITH THE "SWELLS". THE FIRST COUPLE OF SONGS WERE FINE. THEN THERE WAS A "POP." I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED TEST-PLAYING THE REMAINDER OF THE RECORD ON SIDE 2 AND JUST DECIDED TO SELL THE LP ON AN "AS IS" AUCTION BASIS.
AS SUCH, I HAVE GIVEN ALL THE INFO I CAN (KNOWING THAT TEST-PLAYING SIDE 1 PLAYS WAS FINE, BUT NOT FINISING MY TEST PLAY OF SIDE 2 FOR THE REASON I DESCRIBED).
BASED ON ALL THAT, I WILL START THE AUCTION LOW AND SIMPLY LET COLLECTORS DECIDE WHAT VALUE THEY PLACE ON THE PHOTO DISC.
IT WILL BE ONE OF THOSE "BY AS IS" AUCTIONS WITH NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS. PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND AS YOU BID. THERE IS STILL VALUE AND ENTERTAINMENT IN THE HISTORICAL LP, BUT SIDE 2 MAY OR MAY NOT BE JUST A PHOTO DISC THAT ONLY PLAYS ON THE FIRST FEW TRACKS. I CAN'T BE SURE. SO I WILL LET RECORD COLLECTORS DECIDE THE FATE AND HISTORICAL VALUE OF THE CLASSIC PHOTO DISC.
WILL CAREFULLY BE SHIPPED IN A BOX ESPECIALLY DESIGNED TO TRANSPORT THESE RARE AND UNUSUAL (VINTAGE) VINYL LP RECORDS.
