This is an Extremely Rare 1978 NEGATIVE TREND 7" Single from the original pressing, with original sleeve.
FIRST THING - Condition:
The cover and single are actually in very good condition, with just a few very light scratches on the record and the cover being in good shape with no tips, or tears. However, there is a small warp on just one edge, that I've tried to capture in the photographs. To my estimates, it wouldn't effect the ability to play this single at all, however, since I don't currently own a record player, I'm not able to test this out. So I have to say that I can't be absolutely 100% positive.
The cover is stapled top and bottom, 2 on each side, which is how it was originally made. There is an inner sleeve as well as the black and red outer one.

"Negative Trend were ground zero for California punk. Formed in San Francisco in 1977, they shared the stage with other now-legendary bands such as Dead Kennedys, The Avengers, The Dils and The Sleepers. Their sole EP first appeared in 1978 to reveal the shape of punk to come. "Black and Red" features guitarist Craig Gray's nihilistic riffs and singer Mikal Waters' ominous battle cries. "Meathouse" is a hardcore anti-ballad to the Mabuhay Gardens, San Francisco's answer to CBGB's.
The group disbanded soon after a brief sojourn with vocalist Rik L. Rik (F-Word), yet the break-up birthed even more maladjusted offspring. Will Shatter (bass) and Steve DePace (drums) formed Flipper, and Gray would go on to found Toiling Midgets (the first band signed to Rough Trade's US label).
One of the most sought-after US punk records, the Negative Trend EP made such an impression on a young Henry Rollins that decades later he reissued it on CD on his 2.13.61 imprint."
