VERY RARE ZIMBABWE LP -

U2~The Unforgettable Fire~Island ILPC 25

Most Zimbabwe presses records were pressed as samples, for airplay, and/ or come out of the Company Library and so are very rare.

Vinyl Records ( and cassettes) were all pressed in tiny quantity for the mainly European population and once deleted immediately recycled due to the vinyl/ paper shortages there.

To find a record from Zimbabwe in VG+ / better condition is an absolute rarity nowadays, as many have been destroyed,exposed to the heat, eaten by termites, or recycled.

The Africans make handbags and souvenirs out of them nowadays.

After independence (1980) singles were pressed with a plain / standard sleeve or Music express cover only – none with a picture sleeve.


Many LP’s were pressed with unique Zimbabwe only covers & ALL IN TINY QUANTITY !!!


All items were pressed under licence from S.Africa and most of them with the same cat. No.
