Description
This is a Dr. Demento Radio Show recorded by Westwood One Studios airing the weekend of January 5th and 6th, 1985. This is a rare edition collection as the studio originally sent the wrong record for disc 2. The original disc 2 (side 2 only) that was sent to the radio station is a radio show hosted by Phil Hendrie, who interviewed Richard Carpenter, who talked about the voice of Karen Carpenter and what influenced the Carpenters. This mistake was noted and a letter, along with a new, corrected disc was sent. All 3 discs are needed to play the entire show. All 3 are included with this sale, along with the letter explaining the mix-up, as well as the original 2 page call sheet. I have listened to the "mistake" disc and can verify that it is the Phil Hendrie Radio Show. The interview includes 2 songs by the Carpenters, "Postman" and "Only Yesterday". Some of the songs listed on the call sheet for the Dr. Demento Show are: Happy New Year by Spike Jones, He's So Unusual by Helen Kane, Baby Take your Teeth Out by Frank Zappa, Mountain Girl by Judy Tenuta, This is the Life by Weird Al Yankovic, The Rat by Glenn Greasby, Nellie the Elephant by Toy Dolls, Sister Mary Elephant by Cheech and Chong, Up Your Nose by Gabriel Kaplan, Dr. Pimento by Mudfish, Sunday Driving by Jerry Lewis, White Collar Holler by Stan Rogers, Eat My Shorts by Rick Dees.
