Description

Up for sale is the first vinyl pressing of Weezer’s debut album, Weezer (or the blue album). This pressing has become incredibly rare and harder to come by over the years, especially since this album is now 30 years old!

Look, this is by no means a perfect copy, like at all. Just one glance at it and you will instantly see many flaws with it. Sound wise though, this thing sounds pretty great! Yes, there is the occasional pop and click that you can hear, and some slight surface noise, but this is such a great pressing of the album that you’ll end up dismissing those pops and clicks. Prior to owning this one, I had gone through 2 other pressings of this album, and this original sounded the best compared to them (even with all its flaws!)

The record has scratches all around, all very light and nothing severe. Not noticeable unless if the record is directly under a light. I really did try to get a good picture of the more noticeable scratches, but you’ll see that there aren’t any deep deep scratches, all just typical light scratch lines that you can find on literally any older record. From what I can see, side B has more scratches than side A.

The outer jacket is the biggest “eye sore”. Tons of creases and bends, corner dings, the spine having quite a bit of tearing, sticker residue from what I assume was an old price tag (I bought this record second hand, when I bought it the record was already in this condition, I did nothing to it). Out of all the flaws this item has, the outer jacket/sleeve takes the cake.

I honestly have no idea what to price this at. I’m a bit torn to keep it real; it’s an extremely sought after release, but the condition is all over the place, so please don’t be afraid to shoot me an offer, I would be more than willing to negotiate!

This was a prized possession of mine for a while, but not too long ago I got another OG pressing in much better condition, so I no longer have a need for this copy. Even though this one may look very beat up, it sounds awesome. It’s a very well loved copy, and one that I’m sure you will appreciate :)

If you have any questions about the record itself or anything, please send me a message.
