Kaleidoscope picture of the band. The title, "PINK FLOYD" is at bottom center. EMI logo in upper left corner. Laminated flipback cover.

Back Cover:

Title, credits, and song listing. Catalog number in upper right corner. Unlaminated except for flipbacks. On the bottom flipback it says "6709 TPS Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London SX 6157 / SCX 6157." Later issues say "File under POPULAR Pop Groups” This album omits this information as described and should do on first pressings: at the top right of the foldover. (see Photo)

Inner Sleeve:

Black and white inner sleeve. On the front is the EMI logo at the top centre, with "Add these outstanding LPs to your collection" at the top, 16 LP covers pictured in the middle including Both Sides of Herman's Hermits (see photo), and "Remember-the new Emitex cleans and preserves your records," and "Patents applied for" at the bottom. On the back side is the EMI logo at the top centre, with " - the greatest recording organization in the world" at the top, 16 LP covers pictured in the middle including the Beatles-Revolver,(see photo) and "E.M.I. Records (The Gramophone Company Ltd.) Hayes - Middlesex - England, Made and Printed in Great Britain" at the bottom.

Even these original inner sleeves are becoming hard to find and many of these albums now go on sale missing this vital piece of the original album.

Later issues than this one have different LPs pictured, such as the Beach Boys-Pet Sounds, and do not show albums by the Beatles or Herman Hermits.

Label:

Black Columbia label with silver text, and a blue "Columbia Records Magic Notes Trademark" at the top, and a blue "Columbia" in the center. Underneath the blue "Columbia" it says "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions. See price lists."
At the bottom of the label, it says "Made in Gt. Britain."
Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says:

The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited.

Tax Stamp:

On side 1 within the circle that is stamped around the spindle hole are the letters "K" and "T," one on each side of the spindle hole.

The condition of this actual album.

This album is totally complete with all the above and is a first pressing that was issued on the day of it’s release on 5th August 1967.

The outer sleeve:

The outer sleeve front is very clean both back and front, on the front there is just a few small creases and a 10mm long bit of edge wear but I feel this small ammount of wear do not detract from nice clean visual look of this album sleeve.

The back of the outer sleeve is amazingly clean and unmarked ( see my close up photos), there is just very very slight yellowing to the outer edge as a result of ageing, but this is barely noticeable.

The Inner Sleeve:

The inner sleeve is the original inner in excellent condition with no damage at all.

Both labels are the very rare Black/ Blue/ Silver COLUMBIA labels, (see Pictures).

The labels to both A & B sides are in Excellent condition with just a very very faint whisper of spindle marking that is hardly visible to the eye, no damage around the spindle hole, no writing , no cracking, no missing print, and still a stunning black background, ( see photos)

The actual playing surface I would grade as very good+ + + to excellent, many would have no problem grading this as excellent.

I can only see some fathering from removal from sleeve removal. this is only visible under very strong lighting.

In all this is one of the nicest all round copies of the highly collectable albums I have seen.

I just thought I would let all E-Bay and sellers know why the seller with the user name

friskycockerspaniel or auctionspidermonkey left me neg feedback.

I bid and won a record from him/her and paid for it straight away as always, after a week I asked the seller where my record was.

He/she got back to me with the excuse that the record had been broken.

Two weeks later the same record went on sale again but with a different user name.

I noticed that the record and pictures and description were exactly the same as the one that I won and paid for but that was supposed to have been broken.

I checked on this and found that both friskycockerspaniel and auctionspidermonkey the user who was now selling the record came from the same address.

I tried to contact both user names to question what was going on but to no avail

I reported this to E-bay as it is clear that these sellers are one of the same and wanted more than the price the first sale reached.

because I reported the seller to E-Bay this fraudster also decided to be even more childish by leaving negative feedback for me.

Also note that this seller wanted £6 FOR POSTAGE within the UK for a 7” SINGLE

I bid on a record, I won the record then the seller wanted to hike up the price.

I conducted myself quite honestly and did nothing wrong.

I will be applying to E-Bay to have this idiots feedback removed.

My advise to my e-bay friend is this seller is less than honest and overcharges for postage  stay well clear of this/these sellers.

This one is a particularly nasty piece of work
