Description
1st Pressing ! The Jimi Hendrix Experience ?– Electric Ladyland Vinyl LP UK. Dispatched Royal Mail Special next day delivery with signature.
Bought from new on release, didn't ever intend to sell but now down-sizing - until a couple of days ago not played since 1970
Have checked very carefully with available data to find which version this actually is ..... LOOKS LIKE THE "GHOST" to me.
Side A – just one light scratch, although it is on the track no“clicks” when played, there are marks either side but I think that these are pressing marks and also do not affect play. There is a slight static sound in first 2-3 seconds on Voodoo Chile then plays ok
Side B - there is a slight crackle on the lead into Long Hot Summer Nights but not from when track starts.
Side C - great
Side D - between Still Raining and House Burning there is a little noise between the tracks, also slight noise very end of Voodoo slight return track on run out.
Papercovers good condition for the age but see photos – British Patent No’s on the left and Made in England 108 right side
Laminated Cover good, always been kept in a plastic sleeve, it creaks a bit when you open it but that is because of how it was put together. The opening edge has a little bit of wear but not badly. A little shelfwear only on bottom edge.
As far as I can tell this is the Ghost Version, because .........
Catalogue number is repeated above in smaller inverted numbers.
The gatefold also has the large photo of Hendrix on one side and smaller sepia photos. Redding and Mitchell onthe other, Track Records is in the centre in white and to the left is text starting "POLYDOR STEREO RECORDS can be played on Mono Radiogrammes"
White text on the front cover
Blue text inside – with some faint white markings in it.
The track lists .....
3. Crosstown Traffic instead of Cross Town Traffic
5. Burning of the Midnight Lamp instead of The Burning of the Midnight Lamp
HOWEVER, also checked with Discogs details for the Ghost version as follows ….
