Description
In the sale you are looking at a rare album by the Hollies.
The title is simply BUTTERFLY.
Let me tell you something about the condition of the record first.
THE SLEEVE:
This is in excellent + condition retaining it’s gloss front cover and very little creasing and no ring wear.
The back cover has a very small amount of ageing and some slight yellowing along the very bottom, but I would still say this was in excellent condition.
THE VINYL:
This again I would grade as excellent and the playing surface has only the faintest of surface marking from removal from the inner sleeve and these are only just visible under a very bright spot light.
The two black and yellow Parlophone labels remain stunning but with an amount of ring wear , but both labels are free of damage such as cracks, wear and chips.
These labels show that the record has been played but has been well looked after.
See Pictures.
Sleeve and record information:
The album is on the black Parlophone label with the yellow and silver writing (see photos)
It is a Mono copy making it a rare pressing.
The release date is 1967
The Matrix Numbers are as follows.
Side One: XEX 659-1 With a mother stamper of 1 R
Side Two: XEX 660-1 With a mother stamper of 1 . R
This information shows this copy to be one of the very first pressings.
The front sleeve is a simple picture of a butterfly with wings outspread , in the middle of this picture is a magnified circle showing a person with arms outstretched and the word butterfly in bold writing above the head.
All this is in different shades of sepia colour.

Top Left corner, File under POPULAR : Pop Groups.
