2 GREAT MONO LPS "MEET THE BEATLES" & "THE BEATLES’ SECOND ALBUM"

 

ALBUM #1:    "MEET THE BEATLES"   You’re looking at a really cool Mono copy of this historic 46 YEAR OLD ALBUM with a NEAR MINT VALUE of $150.00! 

 

TITLE:  "MEET THE BEATLES"   (Capitol T-2047 – Mono)  ?

COVER: WEST COAST #6 with GREEN LETTERING on front & no Martin credit on back. ?

RECORD: WEST COAST PRESSING with "Star" in trail-off area. ?

LABELS: WEST COAST PRESSING with 3 songs credited to BMI. ?

Because 80% of Capitol's albums were pressed on the East Coast in the first part of 1964, the West Coast pressings of the first three label variations of "MEET THE BEATLES" are clearly more scarce.

ALBUM CONDITIONS

ALBUM COVER: (VG) A nice example of this historic 46 YEAR OLD ALBUM.

Front: The front cover slick is still in pretty good shape. There is some ring wear showing, and a few chips along the open edge. There is also some light ink next to the exclamation point. (SEE IMAGES.)

Back: (West Coast #6 near RIAA symbol.) The rear cover has a few chips along the edges and some light stains. (SEE IMAGES.)

Seams: The only seam split on the entire cover is a 2 inch split at the top center. There is some very minor fraying on the bottom seam.

Spine: Text is a little off-center toward the rear, but still mostly in tact and very legible. The center is starting to split. Both corner have good-sized bumps.

VINYL: (VG)

Record: Play tested. No skips. Has its share of minor surface scuffs & scratches. There are some light pops which do not affect its play.  (SEE IMAGES.)

Labels: Both labels look pretty good. (SEE IMAGES.)

Sleeve: Comes in a new generic sleeve.

TITLE: "THE BEATLES’ SECOND ALBUM" (Capitol T-2080 – MONO)

FIRST PRESSING – 1964?

COVER: SCRANTON PRESSING with NO # on back.

?RECORD: RCA PRESSING with "R" in trail-off area.

LABELS: EAST COAST with NO RUNNING TIMES for first 2 tracks on Side Two.

ALBUM CONDITIONS

ALBUM COVER: (VG) A nice example of this great 46 YEAR OLD ALBUM.

Front: The front cover slick is still in pretty good shape. There is some ring wear showing, along with some light scuffs and a few chips along the open edge. (SEE IMAGES.)

Back: (No # next to RIAA symbol.) The rear cover has just the start of ring wear and a couple of minor creases next to the spine. (SEE IMAGES.)

Seams: I have very carefully repaired portions of both seams with acid-free tape that is hard to detect even when putting the cover right under a strong lamp. Both open end corners have minor dings.

Spine: I have also very carefully repaired the entire spine with acid-free tape. The titles text is worn but mostly in tact and still legible. The catalogue # and Capitol logo are both hard to see. Both corner have good-sized bumps. 

VINYL: (VG+)

Record: Play tested. No skips. Has some minor scuffs & light scratches, but still sounds great with only a minimal amount of light pops which do not affect its play. (SEE IMAGES.)

Labels: Both labels show some wear but still look pretty good. (SEE IMAGES.)

Sleeve: Comes in a new generic sleeve.

*** RECORD ALBUM & SINGLES SHIPPING: All records will be securely shipped in sturdy cardboard mailers. The records will be removed from their covers and original inner sleeves and placed in acid-free paper or poly sleeves. The cover will be put in a loose-fitting polyethylene sleeve. The cost of these items is included in the Shipping & Handling charge.
