Up for auction are 2 Sun 78 Records.

The first is Roy Orbison featuring Ooby Dooby and Go! Go! Go!
Condition of this record is good. You can see in the photo that there is a ring on the Ooby Dooby label. The Go! Go! Go! label is good with a small paper tear in the word Company and a small ring. There are a lot of surface scratches on both sides of the record. I can not feel any of them. I have not played this record so I can't tell you how well it plays or the quality of the sound.

The second record is Jerry Lee Lewis featuring Great Balls of Fire and You Win Again. Condition of this record is Poor. There is a crack that goes from the label to the outside edge of the record. You can still actually play this record as I have several times. The label side of Great Balls of Fire is very good. The label side of You Win Again is Good. There is some wear around the hole and some of the paper label shows some scuffing and deterioration.

I would recommend buying these records only for their collectible value and not for playing. They are both over 50 years old and have been played a lot of times over the years. If you are looking for records to actually play I would probably not bid on these.


GRADING KEY

Mint (M)
Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed. Should be used sparingly as a grade, If at all.

Near Mint (NM or M-)
A nearly perfect record. Many dealers won’t give a grade higher than this implying (perhaps correctly) that no record is ever truly perfect.
The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling.
An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. No cut-out holes, either. And of course, the same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves and the like.
Basically, an LP in near mint condition looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap.

Very Good Plus (VG+)
A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are “OK”.
The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play.
Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount.

Very Good (VG)
Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)
Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record, the groove will be starting to turn white).
A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.

Poor (P), Fair (F)
The record is cracked, badly warped, and won’t play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.

Due to the increase in weight the shipping charges will naturally be higher.
It is well worth it in order to protect the records. Especially during the high heat conditions that we are experiencing this summer. A few extra dollars to protect your investment should be worth it.

About our Feedback

Just wanted to add a note about our feedback. We have been members since 2000 and have never had negative feed back until recently.
We sold a couple of items to a buyer who was going by the name of tapedeckman2. He requested we ship his items by media mail because he was trying to save money. We agreed and never having any problems with shipping we stupidly did not have the package tracked. The buyer contacted us just a few days later and said the package had not arrived. We explained to him that since he had chosen media mail it could take as many as 8 - 12 business days to receive his package. The next day he put a dispute in to EBay saying that we were not answering him and that he hadn't received his package. So fast forward a few more days and he says the package still hasn't showed up. At this time we refunded in full the money he had paid us. We even told him we were sorry and thought that was the end of it. Now almost a month later he leaves us 2 negative feed backs. This man has his feed back marked as private and he is now going by the user name of txbullshitter. Now he has changed his name again. It is member2827372. I would highly recommend all sellers to avoid this buyer if you don't want your hard earned reputation tarnished.
Please know that our reputation is very important to us and if you look at all of our other feed back you will see that we have always delivered.
