Here Is a 24K Gold Plated Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon LP. I picked this up some 15 years ago from a store at the local mall. Don't remember the store name but this was the only one they had. I was young and was looking to break in my new credit card. So it's safe to say that it was an impulse purchase.
Unfortunately, my wife thinks it clashes with the decor so it has been sitting in a closet for many years. I hate to part with it but if there is someone who can appreciate this beautiful piece of memorbilia and display it, then so be it. It is much too nice to just sit in a closet.
This is an actual Dark Side LP. The cat.# is engraved in the center ring.... SMAS-1-11163. As well as on the label.
Now, as far as the gold plating, Yes.. I was very curious as to whether or not it was plated on both sides. It is not. the other side is plain vinyl. I removed the backing to look inside myself. I am providing this info so you as the consumer have as much knowledge about this as I do. However, being plated on only one side is really no big deal. It is not meant to be played or handled anyway. It's just a beautiful way to commemorate the selling status of this legendary album.
As far as I can tell, that is an actual album cover in the frame though I cannot guarantee that it is. The way the whole thing is put together, it seemed impossible to check without ruining it. it was hard enough to see the back side of the album. I used a small mirror to do that. There is a small crease in the matting at the bottom near the edge of the record. This was there from the day I purchased it. That was another reason I took the back off. Other than that, it is in excellent condition!
The frame is REAL wood. Not sure of the type but I can assure you that it is not that pressed fake crap. All in all, this would make for a great conversation piece. It would make for a great Father's Day gift!

Note that the starting bid is WELL BELOW what I paid for this!! I will bubble wrap the picture and place it in a cardboard box and then place that box into another box filled with packing peanuts as this is a fragile piece. Keep in mind that this is the ONLY one that I have seen so I cannot replace it. I'm sure there are others out there but I am not aware of them.
