DESCRIPTION:
Cassino Simpson red vinyl 10"LP on John Steiner's Paramount label. Piano player Cassino Simpson made his mark with Jabbo Smith on a series of Brunswick jazz 78s in 1929, and then freelanced for a few years. He teamed up with Frankie 'Half Pint' Jaxon in 1933, and after a few years working with Jaxon, he suddenly flipped out over Frankie's sissy act and attacked him, leading to his confinement in a hospital for the mentally insane outside of Chicago where he remained until he died in 1952. Except for the unissued Vocalions made with Jaxon in 1933 and a back up piano date at Paramount in 1931, his only other recording work post Jabbo was this series of piano solos made in the 1940s by John Steiner on the grounds of the mental institution.

My curated weekly eBay listings always contain an interesting cross section for a wide variety of interests including on occasion paper ephemera, post-war 78s and LPs.I am listing a run of 10" jazz, blues and world music LPs that have been in storage for over 50 years. For the most part, they are close to new, possibly having being played a couple times, but all were well cared for until they were boxed up long ago. They will fit into one of the vinyl grades below, and none in lesser condition will be listed with the possible exception of a few rarities.
Vinyl Grading scale:
M- - Like new, as close to new without being still sealed. EX - Similar to M- with very minor handling signs, small superficial scuffs from sliding in and out of jacket. VG+ - Shiny with no groove wear, a few more signs of handling, light inaudible marks. VG - Shiny without the mirror like surface, light signs of groove play, spindle marks, light surface scratches or scuffs. Looking more like a lightly used but well taken care of record.
