E+ (or NM), rarely use on 78s, E, E-, V+, V, V-, Poor VINYL GRADING (Visual !!): My LPs are visually graded, most of the LPs I have/am listing are from an OLD and well cared for HUGE Jazz record collection (50K to 75K 78s, LPs + 45s). Many times the vintage vinyl (1950s + 1960s) from this collection, visually grade above average E to E- visually sharp- they are obviously not scratched or abused, they are so old that they have some background noise in most to many cases ( they all have noise to some degree). My brother is recording many/ most of these LPs before I list them and he notes if there is abnormally bad noisiness or obvious defects--this is NOT a play grade--he just notes the real obvious bad stuff. Like I stated before, most vintage vinyl + 78s have noise -some are better some are worse. The letter grades are strictly visual.
33RPM Atlantic (Original black label) 1238 Jimmy Giuffre, Clarinet sharp visually E to E- This scarce circa 1956 LP great Jazz LP is an above average E to E- this looks real nice, light wear and few visible light flaws, this was probably bought new or newish back in the day (late 50s) played a dozen times and kept on a shelf for 6 decades, well taken care of vinyl--nice looking well taken care of. This will come in a vintage Atlantic inner sleeve, The black dg labels are clean with little wear. The jacket is a E- ish, this has a nice glossy front--with no tape really visible on the front (top left a bit visible), the back has the tape visible, nothing else notable wrong, a stamp on the back, see my photos.
