Our GRADING for pskorst and bigbillkorst (our sister 78 + LP record ebay names) is E+ (or NM), E, E-, V+, V, V- and Poor.
VINYL GRADING (Visual !!): My LPs are visually graded, most of the LPs I have/am listing are from an OLD and well cared for HUGE Jazz record collection (50K to 75K 78s, LPs + 45s). Many times the vintage vinyl (1950s + 1960s) from this collection, visually grade above average E to E- visually sharp- they are obviously not scratched or abused, they are so old that they have some background noise in most to many cases ( they all have noise to some degree). My brother is recording many/ most of these LPs before I list them and he notes if there is abnormally bad noisiness or obvious defects--this is NOT a play grade--he just notes the real obvious bad stuff. I mention in the main listing area if these LPs were flagged with noisiness--assume they are OK /fine, average normal noise--if nothing is mentioned in the main listing description. Like I stated before, most vintage vinyl + 78s have noise -some are better some are worse. The letter grades are strictly visual.
33RPM Mercury (Original) MG-20322 Buddy Johnson, Walkin', sharp above average E to E- This great circa 1957 Jazz LP is in an above average, sharp E to E-, this has light wear and few light flaws only, benign marks and a few spots of light filmy wear, no scratches of any note--very few light abrasions. This is well kept from a great old Jazz record collection, just mostly kept on a shelf with 20K others LPs seldom played, acquired new or newish from in the late 1950s by my dad, nice shape, see my 7 photos. Graded Visually. Only have 1 of this. Spindle holes and black DG labels have light wear. Will come in an inner sleeve. The jacket is nice E ish, little wear and few minor light flaws, well kept late 50s jacket this has no splits, no edge wear of any note, nice gloss--above average jacket, minor corner dings is it, light crease on a back bottom corner.
