4 Radio Show Transcription Disc produced by The Armed Forces Radio Service.  Eight complete 15 minute radio programs on these four 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs.  These discs were issued to Armed Forces Radio Service radio stations for broadcast to U. S. troops and not available to the general public, very rare

These four discs feature primarily Victory Parade of Spotlight Bands radio broadcasts.   All four of these discs are in good to very good condition with many surface scratches, please see the photos.  All discs play with no skips, sound is good to very good.  Not pristine examples, however these are pretty rare discs and contain hard to find episodes of these popular radio broadcasts

“Spotlight Bands” #252 Andy Kirk from Newcastle Army Air Base, Wilmington, DE.  Songs include “Wednesday Hop”, “My Heart Tells Me” vocal June Richmond, “St. Louis Blues” vocal June Richmond, “Ridin’ Along”.  15 minutes complete

“Spotlight Bands”  #253 Eddie Oliver from Camp Grant, Rockford, IL.  Songs include “Ted Bucks And 24 Hours Leave” vocal Eddie Grant?, “I’ll Be Around” vocal Ann Judson Jr. (Mrs. Eddie Oliver), “The Music Stopped” vocal Buddy Devito, “My Ideal / Oh What A Beautiful Morning / Warsaw Concerto”, “Don’t Sweetheart Me” vocal Ann Judson Jr.  15 minutes complete

“Spotlight Bands” #263 Les Brown from Camp Adair, Oregon.  Songs include “I Know That You Know”, “My Heart Tells Me” vocal Kim Kimberley, “I Got Rhythm”, “G. I Jive” vocal Butch Stone, “Smiles” featuring Randy Brooks on trumpet – cut off due to closing announcement.  15 minutes complete

“Spotlight Bands” #264 Abe Lyman from Naval Air Station at Quonset Point, RI.  Songs include “Oklahoma”, “By The River Of Roses” vocal Frankie Connors, “Besame Mucho” vocal Rose Blane, “No Love No Nothing” vocal Stanley Worth, “There’s A Great Day Coming Manana” cut off by closing announcement.  15 minutes complete

“Spotlight Bands” #275 Jan Savitt from Bradley Field, CT.  Songs include “I’ll Get By”, “720 In The Books” vocal Buddy Welcome, “Summertime”, “Mairzy Doats” vocal Buddy Welcome, “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” (cut off by closing announcement).  15 minutes complete

“Million Dollar Band starring Barry Wood” (label says “Million Dollar Band Replacing Spotlight Bands #276”).  This program features an unidentified orchestra, Barry Wood, Evelyn Knight and guest Richard Rodgers.  Guest Richard Rodgers speaks about “Oklahoma” and the Broadway revival of “Connecticut Yankee”.  Richard Rodgers then plays the song “Can’t You Do A Friend A Favor” on piano while Barry Wood Sings.  Program also includes an “Oklahoma” medley (“Oklahoma” vocal Barry Wood / “People Will Say We’re In Love” vocal Barry Wood, Evelyn Knight / “O What A Beautiful Morning” played by Richard Rodgers on piano / “Oklahoma” vocal Barry Wood & The Double Daters.  Other songs include “When They Ask About You” vocal Barry Wood, “Poinciana”.  15 minutes complete
