THE ROLLING STONES - Sympathy For The Devil // Prodigal Son (1974 )
Very rare original German 45 on DECCA DL 25610 / Red label.
This is probably one of the rarest Stones´ 45s from the 70´s - of course the songs were recorded somewhat earlier, but in Germany this issue from 1974 is the first-ever issue on 7" format / surprisingly not even the "die-hard" Stones´ fans took notice of this single, when it was released - it was one of only very few Stones´ records, that neither even came close to the charts nor did the record receive much airplay at the time / these days it´s consequently one of those "jewels", that are missing from most collections! / another notable fact: the p/s has it´s opening on the left side, which is quite unusual (usually German records have top-opening sleeves, some exceptions have the opening on the right side, but this is the ONLY German sleeve I know with the opening on the left side!)
