Description

As you have probably heard, Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek has died. During the band's four year existance while Jim was alive, they released six studio albums and 13 singles. People Are Strange would be their third single, off their second album Strange Days. It would peak at #12 and stay on nthe charts for nine weeks. The picture sleeve for this record is hard to come by. I never saw it until a couple years ago when I bought the collection this came with. I have major issues with eBay's record grading system. Maybe someone will explain to me the difference between near mint, mint minus and excellent. I've seen gradings with two or three minuses or pluses. What rubbish! To me, either the record plays or it doesn't. If it doesn't, then it's worthless. If it does, then it's a question of how well. I have played this record and it plays with a minimal amount of surface noise that disappears once the music starts. Is this mint? Of course not. It's a used record, if only for the fact that I've played it. I can't vouch for the 40 years plus of it's existance before I owned it. The sleeve is most definitely used. It's worn along the bottom and you can see visable ringwear. However there are no seam spits, nor is the top edge worn as is commonly seen. There is some minor writinf, as someone wrote the date they got it (11/67). It hit the charts on 9/23/67, so he picked up while the song was being played on the radio. In a way it gives it a bit more authenticity. The front and back photos are the same, otherwise I would have scanned two photos. This will be placed between two sturdy pices of cardboard and marked fragile - do not bend.
